Discipling Others

What does modern discipleship look like? How do we do this during a pandemic? Should we all be proclaiming the good news to the world or starting arguments on social media? What ranks higher: teaching doctrine or loving people? Can we do both?

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18−20, TNIV)

Discipling Like Jesus

“Follow Me.” These were Jesus’ words to his disciples. What did that mean? In his book I Am a Follower, Leonard Sweet says it’s not about leading, but about following. What was Jesus’ method for discipleship? What would happen in our families and community if we discipled like Jesus?

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” (Matthew 4:19)

A WholeLife Disciple

We become molded into Christ by daily practicing spiritual formation (equipping), but this doesn’t happen in a bubble. A disciple is part of a community. We are all a disciple of someone, and we should all be discipling someone, from the oldest to the youngest. What is the cost of being a disciple?
