A NOTE TO WHOLELIFE VOLUNTEERS FROM FAMILY PROMISE.
JANUARY 13, 2026 

I just wanted to say how cared for and welcomed the [Family Promise] families felt last week.  [One of the children] was just asking when she can go back and said she needs Joe’s homework help!  She was really moved by the conversations she had with several volunteers, and she is an adolescent girl who just lost her mother and is currently homeless so this has more impact than you can even imagine.  Your last-minute accommodation of [a family's] dietary restrictions was so kind as well. 

I sat with all the families on Sunday after they returned (I was working that full day) and [a father and daughter] were deep in discussion, they were talking about grief and healing (not sure if you realize but they just came back to us and you were the first church they rotated to since their Mom/Wife passed), and he said that he doesn’t think he would have made it through that first week back in shelter if it were not for the group at WholeLife.  [The father] is not a big talker so that is pretty huge.  Thank you for this.”

Family Promise Volunteer Needs

Overnight Hosts (9:00 PM—7:00 AM): Stay overnight at the WholeLife Church to ensure its security and assist families with any nighttime needs.
Meal Preparation/Donation: Provide and deliver supper for the families by 6:00 PM.
Meal Hosts (5:45 PM – 7:00 PM): Join the families for supper, offering companionship and support during their meal.

At Whole Life Church, we proudly collaborate with Family Promise, a remarkable organization dedicated to assisting unsheltered families with children in their journey toward stable homes. Our cherished partnership with Family Promise allows us to open our hearts and doors, hosting families in need *at our church for one week at a time, a total of four times a year.
